Interview with Natan, Versatile Worker

Natan, what do your workdays look like?

I’m what you’d call a versatile worker. I’m able to fill just about any role in the plant. Each morning when I start my shift, I’m assigned to a position based on absences and production needs. That means every workday is different—I never do the same thing twice, and I really like that.

I sometimes go out on the road to perform door and window repairs at customers’ homes. When new employees join the plant, I may also help train them. I truly get to do a bit of everything.

How long have you been part of the team?

I’ve been building my career at Isothermic for 11 years now.

What qualities are required to succeed in your role?

I think you need a strong ability to adapt and learn quickly. I have to adjust to the pace of different teams and different ways of working, which means being attentive to people’s needs.

I’d also say you need to be focused, detail-oriented, and passionate—and enjoy challenges. You learn something new every day!

What do you enjoy most about your job?

My job allows me to learn continuously. I enjoy what I do and really appreciate the excellent working conditions we have. Supervisors are attentive and support me as best they can.

My work also allows me to build strong relationships with my coworkers. I appreciate being able to work overtime when possible. Even though our industry is seasonal, I’ve been working year-round for several years now, which gives me great job security.

I also enjoy seeing certain projects through from start to finish in the plant. When you’re passionate about your trade, you give it 100%—you work as if you were the customer yourself.

How does Isothermic stand out from other companies?

Isothermic is a clean, proud company. We’re constantly developing new products and new ways of doing things—whether through acquiring new machinery and equipment or adopting new work methods.

The customer is always at the heart of what we do, both inside and outside the plant. We listen closely to our customers and to market demand.

What would you say to someone considering a career in the doors and windows industry?

I’d tell them not to worry. It’s a broad trade with a wide range of positions to fill, depending on each person’s skills and abilities. Training is provided on site, and people are given the time they need to learn their role properly. As the days go by, things only get easier.

The work atmosphere is great—we’re like a family. New employees are welcomed with respect. I’m speaking from experience: you won’t be disappointed choosing this trade. I certainly wasn’t—I love this job.
