Repaire alpin nuit

We recently met with a friendly trio of owners who decided to embrace their entrepreneurial spirit by bringing the Le Repaire Alpin rental chalet to life. Meet Anthony, Audrey-Anne, and Dylan!

Your construction is absolutely stunning, with an architectural design worthy of design magazines. What was your original vision, and what were you hoping to achieve by launching a rental chalet project like Le Repaire Alpin at Mont Adstock?

Thank you very much! Ever since graduating, real estate has always been at the heart of our interests. It’s part of both our professional and personal expertise (architecture, design, and construction). We suddenly had the opportunity to invest at Domaine Escapad by purchasing a lot that allowed for the construction of a rental chalet—a project and a challenge that had appealed to us for several years.
We were very inspired by Scandinavian home models and used that as the foundation for our project. Dylan handled the plans, Audrey-Anne designed the interior, and Anthony managed the self-build. We went from a wooded lot to a completed build in about four months, constructing it with our own hands, with invaluable help from our family and coworkers.

How many windows does Le Repaire Alpin have in total?

We needed 20 doors and windows, including four huge windows on the chalet’s façade, featuring angled corners. Isothermic was the only company able to manufacture corner windows of that size without mullions.

What type of windows did you choose?

We chose hybrid double-glazed windows, black on both the interior and exterior, with no grilles. Some are fixed, while others are casement or awning windows, depending on the needs of each room.

Was choosing the color of your doors and windows a long discussion— or were you all aligned from the start?

It wasn’t a long debate. All three of us prefer black windows both inside and out. It fit perfectly with the spirit of our project and the style we were aiming for.

Which entry door did you choose, and why?

We opted for a black single entry door with full-height glass to maximize natural light on the main floor. We also chose the Thermica threshold for improved performance against air and water infiltration—an Isothermic exclusive.

You have a stunning patio door with an incredible view. Which one did you choose, and why?

We selected a large Element patio door on the upper level to access the balcony. Once again, the goal was to maximize natural light and provide the widest possible opening.

What was the process for choosing the architectural windows?

We started with Dylan’s drawings and asked for a proposal to assess the feasibility of our ambitious idea, as it was a critical element of the project. Among the companies we contacted, Isothermic was the only one able to manufacture the architectural windows we had envisioned. Fortunately, Isothermic’s proposals aligned perfectly with our vision, and we didn’t have to make any structural or architectural compromises. That was one of the main reasons we chose Isothermic—their ability to truly listen to our needs, even for architectural windows.

What a beautiful project—congratulations to all three of you. Thank you for your trust!

We’re very proud of it. We built this project as a team, from A to Z, and it’s a true pleasure to welcome guests every week and share the beauty of our region’s landscape with them.
