Employee Well-Being at the Heart of Isothermic: An Interview with Marie-Eve

As part of our interview series highlighting key initiatives within our company, we sat down with Marie-Eve, Director of Human Resources at Isothermic. The company recently earned the Healthy Enterprise – Level 1 recognition, an achievement that reflects our commitment to employee well-being.

Isothermic recently received the Healthy Enterprise Level 1 recognition. What does this involve?
It’s about implementing a structured and sustainable approach to foster a work environment that promotes employee health and well-being.
We recently achieved Level 1, which recognizes our first concrete steps toward improving the overall health of our teams.
How many levels are there, and what is required to achieve them?
There are three levels of Healthy Enterprise recognition.
Depending on the level, different actions must be implemented across four key areas of intervention:
- Healthy lifestyle habits
- Work–life balance
- Management practices
- Work environment
As you move up the levels, requirements become more demanding. Level 1 requires initiatives in at least one of the four areas, while Level 3 requires actions across all four areas, a formal health and well-being policy, a dedicated budget for the Health and Well-Being Committee, the production of an annual report, and more.
Regardless of the level pursued, employee consultation is the most important step in the process. It’s essential to ensure that the initiatives implemented truly reflect employees’ needs.
Why was it important for Isothermic to undertake this Healthy Enterprise initiative?
To increase our teams’ happiness index! We firmly believe that a health and well-being program benefits both employees and the organization. Healthy employees are happier, more engaged, more focused, and more productive.
This initiative aligns perfectly with our organizational values, as it helps create a positive, creative, and supportive work environment.
What types of initiatives have been implemented within the company?
One great example is the company’s financial contribution to registering teams for various sports challenges. These events allow employees to push themselves while socializing and strengthening bonds with colleagues.
We also offer training for team leaders to enhance management practices. In 2023, Isothermic provided free access to telemedicine services for all employees, helping reduce everyday health-related concerns.
Office employees have access to under-desk pedal exercisers during work hours to counter inactivity, and healthy snacks are provided free of charge to all staff.
Through thoughtful, concrete initiatives, Isothermic demonstrates that a healthy company is built on the well-being of its people. This first Healthy Enterprise recognition is only the beginning—Isothermic intends to continue building on this momentum by strengthening its actions and staying attentive to the evolving needs of its teams.
